Brad Williams made an impressive first class debut playing for Victoria as a 19 year old in 1994-'95. He bowled with a lot of pace and was seen as a future star in the Australian national side. He however had to wait till 2001 to represent Australia, when he got to make his ODI debut in a match against New Zealand. He was not very consistent though and this had been seen in the first class circuit as well. Not having a lot of success with Victoria, he moved to Western Australia and the bouncy pitches of WACA suited him well. He took 50 wickets in a single season and that got him noticed in the eyes of the national selectors. His Test debut came in 2003 in a match against the West Indies. However he could not manage to cement his place in the squad. He is generally regarded as inferior to the other great Australian pace bowlers Glenn McGrath, Jason Gillespie, Michael Kasprowicz, and Brett Lee. After being dropped from the national squad, he went back to playing domestic cricket but after a string of controversies with his domestic side that led to his 1 year suspension, Brad Williams moved to Queensland and began work as a house painter.
