If ever God himself came down to play cricket, He would have still been second best to Sir Don Bradman. It is true; Sir Don Bradman graced the game of cricket and set up before every conceited cricketer a colossal mountain of achievements- both insurmountable and humbling. Such is the greatness of Sir Don Bradman that his name has become synonymous to the game itself. Sir Donald Bradman played in 52 test matches and scored 6996 runs with an out of this world average of 99.94. Infact he needed only four runs in last innings to finish with the average of 100; unfortunately he fell for a zero. In his brilliant (even the best superlative fails to catch it) career, spanning 20 years, Sir Don Bradman scored 29 centuries and 13 half centuries from 80 innings. His highest test score of 334 runs came in1930 at Headingley against England.

All of Sir Donald Bradman runs came at a quick pace, he entertained the crowd and intimated the bowlers. The extent of Don Bradman's domination and the dread that he aroused in the bowlers heart can be felt glancing at the infamous bodyline episode. Douglas Jardine, England captain in the ashes series in 1932-33, devised the plan to curb Don Bradman's scoring abilities. Yet Don Bradman came out of the series with the average of 56.57. Sir Donald Bradman ended his test career in 1948. He remained associated with game as a selector and an administrator.

In a galaxy of Australia's sportpersons, Sir Don Bradman truely remains the brightest star. Cricketscorelive.com gives information on Don Bradman and other Great Cricket Players.
