Shaun Tait impressed everyone with his bowling while playing domestic cricket for South Australia. He was declared Australia's Young Cricketer of the Year in 2003-04 and consequently got selected in the national squad for the tour of Sri Lanka. Though he did not get to play in the series, he was offered by the Australian Cricket Board a contract as one of the twenty five top players. In 2004 he signed up for the English county Durham, but that is a stint he would like to forget as he had a disastrous outing indeed. However he returned to Australia and did not let that affect his morale. He had a good domestic season playing for South Australia and got 65 wickets in 2004-'05. He was included in the 2005 Ashes team and got to play two games in the tournament as well.
Shaun Tait is a very bright young prospect for Australia and he will surely fancy his chances of becoming one of Australia's premium bowlers in the years to come. However his unique bowling action has left him injured many a times and it only threats more such injuries. If he can maintain his fitness, then his young pacer has surely got the potential to go places.
