Stuart MacGill is a specialist Australian leg spinner. He went to Christ Church Grammar School, where he excelled at cricket. He began his domestic career playing for Western Australia and also played some minor county cricket in England. He now plays for New South Wales. Stuart MacGill is usually believed to be Australia's second best leg-spinner after Shane Warne. He is famous for his huge leg-break and handy googly. MacGill can boast of having the best strike rate of any modern day leg-spin bowler, having taken 152 wickets at an average of 29.21 with a strike rate of about 55. He amassed 53 wickets in 11 Tests during Warne's 12-month drugs ban in 2003-04. However, his batting is not at all good and he is a sloppy fielder, thus keeping him out of the side often. Also, with Shane Warne in the team, the Australian selectors hesitate to include another leg spinner. MacGill is a kind of oddball amid the Australian Cricket Team.
