Wisden Cricketer of the Year 2001 Martin Bicknell had all the qualities of a good bowler. He was aggressive and could swing the ball in both the directions. His debut came in 1993 during the Ashe series, at the age of 23. He had been picked two years earlier for the similar tour but never made it to the playing eleven. After being given to play in two tests, Martin Bicknell was, quite unfortunately, dropped. He worked hard for a recall and caused a great havoc among the county batsmen to reclaim his test player status. The recall, when it came nearly ten years later, shocked Martin Bicknell as well. In the series against South Africa, Martin Bicknell impressed with his tally of wickets and was key to the England's comprehensive victory. Martin Bicknell ended his eventful career in 2006.
