Vic Marks was a very handy all rounder for England who bowled right arm off spin and also chipped in with the bat lower down the order.
Marks made his first-class cricket debut in the 1975, his ODI debut against the West Indies in 1980, and his Test debut against Pakistan in 1982. Though he played only six Tests, he was an important member of the ODI squad, having played 34 matches and claiming 44 wickets at a healthy average of 25.79.
Vic Marks had a brilliant run in domestic cricket. Having represented Somerset and Western Australia, he took 859 wickets at an average of 33.28 in 342 first-class matches, and scored 12,419 runs at an average of 30.29.
After retirement, he got into journalism and broadcasting.
