Vikram Solanki made his debut for Worcestershire as a flashy 19 year old batsman and soon was noticed as a hard hitting player. He was then selected for the England A team where his performances were noteworthy. Following this, he got a call up to the national side. But after some below par performances in 1999-'00 against South Africa, he was sidelined. He made a comeback to the side in the 2003 World Cup. After some mixed performances in the World Cup, he was retained in the squad for the Champion Trophy. Currently he is the captain of Worcestershire.
