Andrew Jones played for New Zealand from the late 1980s to mid 90s. He was a late inductee into test cricket- at the age of 28. His unorthodox style of batting did not earn him many fans among the purists, to whom his strange way of jumping to tackle a short delivery was an unremitting eyesore.
In the passing years Andrew Jones proved his mettle as a dependable batsman with five of his seven centuries going beyond 140. Andrew Jones finished with 2922 runs from 39 test matches and a wonderful average of 44.27.
