Hamish Marshall made his Test debut against South Africa in December 2000 in a rain affected match where he made an impressive 40. However, he was not selected for 3 years after that and got an opportunity against Pakistan in 2003-04, where he scored an exciting 101. He then scored 64 and 84 to help New Zealand win the next home series. After a string of good performances, he was included in the 2004 NatWest Series in England. He did brilliantly well in the league matches before scoring 44 to help New Zealand win the final beating West Indies. His first Test century came in 2005 against Australia when he scored 146, followed by another against Sri Lanka. Gloucestershire has singed him on and he is playing county cricket along with team mate Shane Bond for Gloucestershire.
