Lou Vincent made a sensational Test debut against Australia in 2001 when he scored a hundred and a fifty in his very first match. In that Test he had opened the innings, but ever since has batted at many positions. Many believe this is a factor affecting his batting as he finds it difficult to settle into a specific position. He has not been able to keep up his brilliant form that he exhibited on debut and has often faltered. Lou Vincent however did play some good innings once in a while. In 2005-’06 Lou Vincent hit a magnificent 172 against Zimbabwe to register the highest individual Kiwi score. He also managed to get an awesome 224 against South Africa to list his first double hundred. Though a little inconsistent at times, Lou Vincent has managed to remain in the New Zealand side.
