Mark Greatbatch played for New Zealand in the 90s.While in test matches, he displayed perfect patience and waited for loose deliveries, in ODIs Mark Greatbatch batted with a sense of urgency, both to score quick runs and walk back to the pavilion. Mark Greatbatch began his test career on a high note, by scoring a century on debut against England in 1988. The following year saw Mark Greatbatch play a dramatic match-winning knock of 146 against the Australians. The score remained his career best in test cricket. Mark Greatbatch went on to play 41 test matches for New Zealand and scored 2021 runs at an average of 30.62. He also played in 84 ODIs and scored 2206 runs.
