Mark Richardson

Full name Mark Hunter Richardson
Born June 11, 1971, Hastings, Hawke's Bay
Major teams New Zealand, Auckland, Buckinghamshire, Otago
Batting style Left-hand bat
Bowling Style Slow left-arm orthodox

Mark Richardson was a New Zealand cricket who had initially made it to the team as a bowler, but owing to his inability to perform well, lost his place in the squad. Remarkably, he worked on his batting and returned to the team as a batsman. He represented New Zealand in 38 Tests, scoring 2776 runs at an average of 44.77, including 4 centuries and 19 fifties. He was a very good hitter of the ball and along with Lou Vincent added 231 at Mohali, thus setting the record for the second highest opening partnership for New Zealand in an oversees Test. He was a very lively cricketer and his race with the slowest runner of the opposition after every match was eagerly awaited by many for sheer entertainment value. He retired in 2004 and is currently a popular commentator. Cricketscorelive.com provides the profile of Mark Richardson and other cricketers around the world.
