Full name Paul John Wiseman Born May 4, 1970, Auckland Major teams New Zealand, Auckland, Canterbury, Durham, Otago Playing role Bowler Batting style Right-hand bat Bowling Style Right-arm offbreak
Paul Wiseman has represented New Zealand in 25 Tests and 15 ODIs. He is a spinner and has often been used as Daniel Vettori's back up. Though he has a good technique, he has not been able to cement his side in the New Zealand squad. He made his debut for New Zealand in 1998, but got dropped after some disappointing performances. He made a comeback to the side a few years later and though he chipped in with occasional good bowling spells, he was largely unsuccessful and after consequent poor performances against Australia and Sri Lanka in 2005, was dropped from the side. He has not played international cricket since. He has signed up with Durham for the 2007 season.
