One of the legends of Pakistani cricket, Hanif Mohammed has the distinction for playing the longest innings in test cricket- 970 minutes in his 337 against West Indies in 1957-58.
The following year Hanif Mohammed scored, what was to be a record for the highest score in test cricket until Brian Lara broke it in 1994, 499 in first class cricket.
Hanif Mohammed served as a wicket-keeper for a while and also rolled his arms once in a while. Hanif Mohammed scored 3915 runs from 55 test matches and 17059 first-class runs from 238 appearances at an average of 52.32.
Hanif Mohammed was instrumental in making cricket popular among the mass, he was fondly called the 'Little master'.
