Known to the cricketing world as 'Inzy', Inzamam-ul-Haq surprises many with his nimble-footed batting. He is wonderful timer of ball and hooks the ball very effectively. His test record at this stage of his career has won him a place among the cricketing legends of Pakistan.
Inzamam-ul-Haq made his test debut against England in 1992 at Birmingham. This was the year Pakistan was to bring home the World Cup and Inzamam-ul-Haq made bulky contributions to attain success. His 37-ball 60 runs inning in the semi-final remains one of the most memorial innings of that World Cup.
Inzamam-ul-Haq's highest test score came in 2001-02, when he toiled for two days to dig up 329 runs against New Zealand at Lahore. Many would probably choose to differ if Inzamam-ul-Haq is called the best batsman in the world but none would dispute that he is a man for the crisis. Unlike the other contenders for the best batsman's place- Lara and Tendulkar, a high percentage of Inzamam-ul-Haq's centuries coincided with the team's victory.
Inzamam-ul-Haq is presently the captain of the Pakistani side. He averages in the fifties in test cricket.
