Mohammad Sami burst into the international circuit and took everyone by surprise when he took five wickets against New Zealand in his first Test. He had an equally successful domestic career and that paved the way for his international career. In his third Test, he managed to get a hat-trick against Sri Lanka and announced his arrival in world cricket. However, he could not manage to keep up the good show and soon his form started to fall out. He went through a bad patch in his career, and only on very few occasions managed to take on the role of a match winner. With the emergence of other pace bowlers in the Pakistani team, Mohammad Sami found it difficult to maintain his place and was finally dropped from the tour of Sri Lanka. However, luckily, and owing to injuries to other fast bowlers, Sami was recalled to the side for the series against England. But given his form and given the pool of talented players waiting in the wings, it will be hard for Mohammad Sami to cement his place in the Pakistani squad unless he lifts his game.
