Saleem Malik was a sensational player who had the ability to clinch victories from the claws of defeat. This was specially witnessed when he played the mammoth innings at Eden Gardens against India and scored 77 from just 36 balls. He continued his good form all through. After making his debut in 1981-'82, Malik played 103 Tests and 283 ODIs, scoring 5768 runs at 43.69 and 7170 runs at 32.88 respectively. However, his career was tarnished when he was accused of match fixing. He was consequently banned from international cricket and thus a glorious career came to an end, under the shadow of shame and disgrace.
