Considered by most as the best Pakistani batsman of all times, Zaheer Abbas is indeed a living legend. Zaheer Abbas played 78 Tests and 62 ODIs for Pakistan. While he made 6062 Test runs at an average of 44.79, his ODI record looked equally impressive-2572 runs at 47.62.
In the very second test that he ever played, Zaheer Abbas scored a mammoth 274 against England and established himself as a dangerous batsman. He went on to make three more Test double hundreds in his career. He also had a glorious first class career and remains the only Asian to have over 100 centuries. He played most of his first class cricket with Gloucestershire and played with the team for 13 long years.
Zaheer Abbas captained the Pakistani side for sometime as well. He was a captain who led by example. He remains as one of the greatest cricketers ever to have graced the game and so immense was his talent that the opposition bowlers often had nothing else to do but watch the ball dance across the boundary ropes.
