Farveez Maharoof is a talented, young all-rounder in the Sri Lanka squad. Having made his impression in the Under 19 World Cup, he now is posing as a challenge to players like Lasith Malinga and Nuwan Kulasekara for a place in Sri Lanka's Test team. Though he didn't get too much of an opportunity to prove it, Maharoof has a sound batting style and is able to adapt to various situation. Along with Chaminda Vaas he has rescued the team quite a few times when the top order has failed to deliver with the bat. Very unfortunately, Maharoof is often under bowled in test matches, especially in the second innings. This was very evident in the 3rd Test between England and Sri Lanka in 2006 when he did not bowl in the entire match. So if given a chance, he can surely play well and set figures that will speak for themselves. Interestingly, he has also indicated in his short international career that he is not a victim to pressure, an aspect that has bothered the Sri Lankan fast bowlers over the years.
