Nuwan Kulasekara impressed everyone in his first ODI, against England at Dambulla in November 2003, after being selected from virtual anonymity. From a lively run-up and bouncy open-chested action, he produces active pace, moves the ball off the seam and can reverse-swing the ball. He can also continue a tight line and length. Having started his career as a softball fan, he shifted to cricket, joining Negegoda Cricket Club and then Galle Cricket Club.
