A useful batsman, effective leg spinner and a brilliant fielder, Upul Chandana was, at a point of time, many players combined in one. But most importantly, Upul Chandana improved with each passing year. In 2002, Upul Chandana was made the captain of the Sri Lanka A against Kenya. He showed remarkable maturity and topped both bowling and batting averages.
