One of the best and most successful players of UAE, Khuram Khan has been a consistent performer. Though he has played just two one day internationals for UAE, he has been playing since 2001 for UAE. His first appearance was at the 2001 ICC Champions Trophy in Canada. He scored 243 runs with a brilliant average of 60.75. He also chipped in with the ball, claiming 19 wickets in 95 overs, at an average of 13.52. He captained the side at the 2004 Asia Cup as well, where teams like India and Sri Lanka also participated. Khuram Khan continued with the captaincy till the semi-final of the 2005 Intercontinental Cup, when he declared himself unavailable and so Arshad Ali was named captain.
