Bart King is undoubtedly the greatest cricketer that Northern America has produced. He played domestic cricket for the Tioga and Belmont clubs in Philadelphia, and also played many international games between 1892 and 1912, including three tours to England. While in England, he proved that he was capable of playing against the best in the world. He bowled really fast, and maintained an average of 11.01 in 1908, which remained an English first class record for many years. He was a very talented batsman as well and his highest score remains 344. He died at age 91 in 1965 in Philadelphia.
