Wavell Hinds has proven himself to be an explosive batsman and a resilient one too. In his fourth test against Pakistan at Bridgetown in 1999-00, Wavell Hinds scored an aggressive 165 runs.
The matches that followed brought not much in terms of runs, and Wavell Hinds’ faulty footwork seemed to have caught the notice of the oppositions. Wavell Hinds experienced a rough patch and was subsequently dropped from the side in 2004. West Indies at that juncture of time was experimenting with other opening pairs, the experiments ended with a loud burst that left the West Indian cricketers shamefaced. Wavell Hinds was soon recalled to the site.
Besides his batting, Wavell Hinds imparts depth to West Indian bowling with his gentle medium pacers.
